Migracount

Migracount is a personal migraine-tracking application that runs entirely locally, with optional server synchronization through a Google account. A multi-step form lets users quickly log the timing, intensity, medication taken, symptoms, location and triggers of each attack. The dashboard displays interactive charts (frequency, intensity) and a tracking calendar built with Chart.js, while data is stored in localStorage and synced in real time to a self-hosted PocketBase server whenever the user is signed in.

Key points

A guided, multi-step entry form
Logging an attack goes through an eight-step form (when, intensity, medication, symptoms, location, triggers, notes, summary), navigable by tapping or swiping, with the in-progress draft saved automatically.

Charts and a calendar to track evolution over time
The dashboard summarizes attack frequency, intensity and average duration through interactive Chart.js graphs and a severity-coded calendar, making it easy to spot trends across weeks and months.

Customization, accessibility and privacy
The app offers a dark mode, a light mode, an automatic mode and a "Migraine Mode" with reduced animations, plus a dyslexia-friendly font option. Data can be exported or imported as JSON, and analytics stay anonymous and cookie-free.
Challenges
Designing an entry form that stays quick to fill in during an actual attack while still capturing enough detail (medication, symptoms, triggers) to produce useful statistics afterward.
Making the sync between localStorage data and the PocketBase server reliable, with a smart merge that favors the most recent entry without ever losing an attack logged offline.
